Sometimes I step back and look around and just soak it all in. All these people giving their time, effort, money, and emotional support to us. It is important. And it is felt. And I do not take any of it for granted. I see this tribe of people showing us support and love- and I feel it too. This tribe of people continue to surround us and help us keep the faith. We continue to get news of fellow AML/leukemia/bone marrow transplant patients relapsing- sometimes it breaks our stride. So thank you for lifting us up in prayer, thank you for your help, and most of all thank you for continuing to show our children what is important in this life.

As well, an enormous debt of gratitude to Glenn's colleagues at Dewey Homes for all that they have done to support us during this time. Words are inadequate.

Thanks. so very much.

Aaaaah!!! I know I am not alone in saying that I was chomping at the bit for an update (even though I see and talk to you...how nuts is that?). I also love that we are all now a "tribe"...has a nice ring to it.
"Light the Night" this year was even more meaningful to me, and I can't really figure out why. Perhaps it is because this time I took a few minutes to take in the scene (whilst chomping on a Philly pretzel:-) and take a deep breath. I cannot even imagine all that the kids will take with them from nights like that. They were all so spectacular, working together so beautifully. Not expecting to be rewarded, paid or even thanked. The look of contentedness that comes from doing something with the purest of intentions. Nights like this will probably be visited in their hearts and minds for many years to come. Even if they're too young (like J & D's little guy) to remember it specifically, it doesn't matter, because it's part of them.
I am so honoured and privileged to have met so many beautiful people through your family, and of course, for the friendships that began so many years ago.
Love,

What an inspiring event! You help me keep the faith here in Taiwan, where we are holding similar events to help the victims of typhoon Morokot who lost their homes when a year's worth of rain fell in the Taiwanese mountains last August. Thankfully, the typhoons Melor and Parma missed Taiwan, just giving us cooler weather. Buddhist, Bahai, and Christian friends here are following your journey with you, and praying for you everyday. Count us in the tribe!
Love,
Liz
