**PLEASE DO NOT SEND FLOWERS**
If you so desire to contribute...
the Team Gleason pay it forward FUND has been established.
It is Glenn's wish that we continue to support the nurses and patients of Rhoads 6 and 7 in a variety of ways. Some ideas include thoughtful ways to honor and thank the nurses and staff that face this difficult battle day after day, year after year. Other ideas include identifying a families in need to help pay for parking or send a meal and some items that we found helpful for a long stay. We would also like to replenish the cots on the floors since they have dwindled down to 2. As well, the fund will allocate some money toward Light the Night and the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Glenn also requested that I set aside some of the money toward a scholarship for a child in need for preschool to Christ Memorial. I will try to update on this blog as things are done so that you can see just how far we can go to pay it forward. This has been a dream of ours for many years- and I am so proud to see it through in his memory.
Today I received hundreds of emails asking about services. It seems that many, many of you read the blog- (but many who don't) and since I will not be able to personally answer the many emails in time- I would appreciate any of you who would pass along the service information to your family and colleagues who might want to be there. We welcome any of you - this is a TEAM GLEASON production- you are all invited and very much wanted to celebrate this wonderful man.
Contributions to the Team Gleason Pay it Forward Fund can be sent to

Amy,
It's so like you that in the midst of what must be unimaginable grief you are already thinking of ways to pay it forward and honor Glenn's memory. What a wonderful tribute to Glenn and a testament to the incredible love and devotion you two had for each other. You truly are amazing and I am so blessed to know you. Glenn will live on through you, the children and the unwavering spirit of Team Gleason.
Much love and continued prayers for you and your family.
Kristen
Glenn's journey has taught me something clear: he is a man among men, and I could only dream to have the courage and grace that he has demonstrated.

Amy - Thank you for the update and the music Glenn wanted to share - Glenn will always be remembered as the "Great Man", Husband, Father, Brother, Son, and Friend to so many people and the lives he touched. Irish Prayers will always continue for you all. Theresa
My heart goes out to you all! I did not know Glenn well; I had the pleasure of being in his company three time. Clearly he, Amy and their entire family left a huge impression on me!
In those brief moments I was struck by the ease at which a smile would appear on his mouth and lips. And how I could not help but return his infectious smile!
His positive light and energy will be missed!
Natalie and I are happy to support your Pay-It_Forward initiatives to the best of our ability!
Much love and support to you and your entire family!
My deepest condolences,
Stephanie Zehender
Amy,
Glenn's light is already shining through you and the pay it forward initiative. I am so proud of you, proud to be your friend and proud to celebrate Glenn's life with Team Gleason on Friday. Love to you and the children.

Dear Amy - I was in good shape until I heard the Rudy music. It occurs to me that Glenn has left behind a vision for those fighting cancer - that it will feel like the last minute, of the last home game, of your senior year, and the outcome may already seem certain. But, believing in the fight, and sticking it out to the end can produce moments far more incredible than any scoreboard victory.
That song is his now, in my mind. And, given how much this ND family watches that movie, will forever remind me of him and his courage. I will miss my process-oriented, racecar-driving, cookie bar-baking friend.

Dear Amy,
Glenn and I used to love to share quotes with each other to inspire oureselves and our co-workers. Below is one of my favorites and the one I will always associate with Glenn.
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better;
To know that even one life has breathed easier because you lived.
That is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Much love from us all,
John
The art of losing isn't hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.
Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.
I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.
---Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan't have lied. It's evident
the art of losing's not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.
-- Elizabeth Bishop
God hath not
promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
all our lives through.
God hath not
promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
peace without pain.
But God hath promised strength for
the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way
Grace for the trials
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.
Amy...I'm so sorry to hear about Glenn's passing. May you and your family find comfort in the fact that his spirit lives on in his family, friends, acquaintances and those who never knew him but were moved by his fight. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Amy, You have such a gift to see beauty in the world. I am praying that the world will always seem beautiful to your family, as you have shared some of your gift with all of us. I am moved deep in my spirit as I see the work of the Lord in your family! Love you all...
Sam,
I'm really sorry. You're being so strong through all of this. I'll really miss your dad.
Elisabeth
